Born on January 22, 2007, in Estanyol, Girona, Pau Cubarsí began his football journey at local club Girona before joining La Masia at age eight. Under Barcelona’s guidance, he progressed rapidly through the youth ranks, displaying exceptional maturity and technical ability. His development accelerated in 2022 when he began training with the U-19 team despite being just 15, catching the attention of first-team coaches.

Since making his first-team debut for FC Barcelona in January 2024, Pau Cubarsí has established himself as a regular starter in the heart of defense. His breakthrough season saw him help Barcelona secure a top-three finish in La Liga and reach the quarterfinals of the Champions League. Though still early in his career, he has already collected impressive statistics: over 20 first-team appearances, multiple clean sheets, and a pass completion rate consistently above 90%, showcasing his Barcelona DNA of possession-based football.

Pau Cubarsí arrived at La Masia from Girona on 1 July 2018 as a U12 player. The 2023/24 season was a key moment in his career as he made his competitive debut with the first team.

A centre back who provides leadership and decisiveness in defence, while also being able to bring the ball out, as an U18 player during the 2023/24 season, he played for Barça Atlètic, while receiving squad call ups and playing time with the first team. Salamanca will always remain a fond memory for Pau Cubarsí, as the 16-year-old centre back made his competitive debut for the Club in January 2024 against Unionistas in the Copa del Rey. A month earlier he had already featured for the first team in a friendly game in Dallas against Club América.
